Project Title: Southeastcon 2022 Hardware Competition

Required EE Area(s) of Expertise: 1) Programming and Microprocessor (Sensor reading, picking and throwing, path search) 2) Robotics and Control (Hardware design and controlling the hardware)

Brief Project Description: Develop a robot to autonomously navigate the Mardi-Gras route while performing tasks. The robot must complete the track and/or achieve the highest possible score by making multiple rounds within the time frame while throwing beads and moon pies and cleaning up obstacles and avoiding obstacles. Major system products expected from this project: Microcontroller programming and hardware design for 1) Sensor Reading 2) Decision making based on the read data 3) throwing small objects 4) pick and moving small objects and 5) optimal path finding.

Parts of the project that “Engineering Design” is expected (e.g., mathematical calculations and/or verification simulations):

The level of support (Time: technical guidance, materials, computing, financial, etc.) for the project. If no financial support will be provided, please offer an estimate of the Materials Cost: 1) Technical Advice from Dr. Jeong (based on students request) 2) Access to IEEE students’ facility 3) Budget for Hardware and Parts (via student organization) 4) Budget for conference participation (if selected)
